About The Threshold

The people, the experience, and the commitment behind this community.

Who Runs This

The Threshold started as a simple idea: gather experienced shooters and hunters in one place where knowledge flows freely and questions get real answers. We're not consultants or vendors—we're people who've spent years at the range, in the field, and at the bench working on gear.

Most of us have been shooting or hunting for over a decade. We've learned what works, what doesn't, and where to find people who can help. This site exists because we got tired of seeing newcomers get bad information, and experienced folks having nowhere to share what they know.

Safety matters here. So does honest talk about gear, technique, and the local spots worth your time. We point people toward the shops and outfitters we actually trust because we've worked with them and know their standards.

The Record So Far

Numbers aren't everything, but they tell part of the story. We measure ourselves by the community we've built and the trust that goes with it.

Something We Changed Our Mind About

"We used to think expertise meant knowing everything. Now we know it means admitting when something's outside your wheelhouse and knowing who to ask."

The Threshold Team, 2023

That shift changed how we think about this community. Instead of gatekeeping knowledge, we focus on connecting people who know different things. A master reloader can teach you precision. A hunting guide can teach you field craft. A gunsmith can teach you repair.

The best shooters and hunters we know aren't the ones who pretend to know everything. They're the ones who stay humble, ask good questions, and help others do the same.

What We Stand For

Safety isn't negotiable. Every recommendation we make, every resource we share, and every person we point you toward has been vetted for competence and integrity.

Knowledge sharing is our core mission. The people who help shape this community stay involved because they see good questions answered and newcomers getting better faster.

Local matters. We know the ranges, the clubs, the outfitters, and the instructors in this area. National advice is fine, but local knowledge is irreplaceable.
